This week we introduce a youthful businessman who has the Midas touch when it comes to business and is one of the fastest rising entrepreneurs in the country. Mutare born Shakemore Wellington Timburwa is a television personality and serial entrepreneur who is driven to provide solutions and tap into the wealth of resources surrounding us.
The 28-year-old businessman is the founder and Chief Executive Officer of Parvaim Gold Holdings and Energy Plus and has made a name for himself as an astute business leader with a diversified portfolio cutting across mining, real estate, energy and construction..
Timburwa’s business and leadership exploits have seen him recognised by various prestigious institutions and the Forbes Africa Top 30 nominee traces his success to being the result of hard work and firm faith.
“My breakthrough in business came after a series of insightful events. I saved up some money for an income generating project and came across an undercapitalised gold mine claim where I injected $6342 and started working on its profitability,” he said.
“It was not always easy but we have grown considerably in the sector over the years which has opened avenues into other areas such as energy and real estate. As a believer I was getting inspiration from my Spiritual Father Emmanuel Makandiwa on the values of hardwork and Biblical teachings where great people such as Apostle Paul who claimed in 1 Thessalonians 2:8-10 that he survived on moonlighting. He was a preacher by day and a tentmaker by night and that story steered me onwards.”
Anchored with that drive to make his mark in the business world, Shacky Timburwa launched Parvaim Gold Holdings in 2016 as a start-up gold mining private equity and has overseen its growth and transformation into a big player in the mining industry which employs across mining, engineering, processing and administration.
“Deriving from my spiritual father and mentor’s teachings, I have learnt the art of finding profitable solutions to problems. In providing solutions to community and people’s problems you put yourself on the path of profitability. That has sharpened my desire to look for problems and provide solutions,” said Timburwa.
Not content with just one achievement, he has since spread his wings into the energy and construction sector among others. He founded the Energy Plus Group and Premier Mary which specializes in distribution and supply of LP Gas and solar solutions and hardware and construction solutions, respectively. In all that he has drawn some lessons and shared his insight to aspiring entrepreneurs.
“Founding Parvaim Gold Holdings has and seeing it grow as well as incubating Energy Plus among other ventures has been motivating for me. Business needs dedication and commitment while being able to identify people that will carry or perfect your vision. The more you are able to identify and provide solutions in any set up, the easier it is to be in business.”
“Identify and solve as many problems as possible and you’ll be on course to succeed. It’s not as easy as it seems though, you need to give it your all and never give up when the chips are down as they are bound to at some stage,’’ he said.
Shacky Timburwa uses his time away from his business ventures as a mentor in entrepreneurship and global business speaker. He has been nominated to participate at the Pan African Youth Leadership Forum, World Energy Council’s Future Energy Leaders Program (FEL-100) among other recognitions and continues lifting the country’s flag on a global stage as one of the emerging young leaders.
